ABOUT

Arts, Participation & Social Change

Vera Al Mawla is the President and Co-Founder of Peace of Art International. She is a youth advocate and cultural practitioner whose work centers on the intersection of arts, media, peacebuilding and civic engagement to promote social change and prevent violence.

She has led numerous community-driven and research-based initiatives focused on arts-based prevention of violent extremism, sports-based PVE, youth-inclusive advocacy and trauma response.

Her approach brings together creative expression, psychosocial support, sports, digital rights and youth activism while also addressing interfaith dialogue, electoral engagement, intergenerational dialogue and participatory research on freedom of expression and civic spaces in marginalized communities.

Vera has co-directed documentaries and contributed to training handbooks, using media and storytelling as tools for dialogue, education and civic participation.

She has trained young people, caregivers, educators and civil-society organizations across the SWANA region in peacebuilding, inclusive education, digital storytelling and leadership.
