Strengthening Women and Youth Strategies in Lebanon
September 24, 2025 – Beirut, Lebanon - Peace of Art Organization joined its partners from the Women and Youth Working Group, led by Search for Common Ground, for a meeting with Minister Rima Karami at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Beirut. During the discussion, Peace of Art President Vera Al-Moula and Lebanon Country Director Ibrahim Yehia emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination with the Ministry and educational institutions — particularly in marginalized regions such as the Bekaa and the North. The partners shared key recommendations developed under the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agendas, aligned with UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 2250. Minister Karami welcomed the proposals and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to collaborate with civil society. Peace of Art remains dedicated to advancing inclusive, community-driven initiatives that empower women and youth across Lebanon.

Peace of Art: From Beirut to Nairobi—A Global Stand on Hardship and Hope
Kenya — September 17, 2025 — Peace of Art proudly participated in the Global Partners Conference in Nairobi, where Executive Director Mr. Ebrahim Yahya represented the organization on the international stage. The event gathered partners from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to engage in meaningful dialogue on the realities faced by civil society organizations (CSOs).
In his address, Mr. Yahya emphasized themes of hardship, resilience, and shared experience, highlighting the importance of openly sharing how CSOs navigate challenges and recognizing the dedication and sacrifices of those working on the front lines to build peace and stability.
This global gathering reaffirmed Peace of Art’s commitment to peacebuilding through art and advocacy, strengthening international collaboration and transforming adversity into an opportunity for impactful change.

Empowerment Through Self-Defense!
September 6, 2025 – Ain, Lebanon ⎯ Peace of Art proudly launched its Self-Defense Training Program for Women at its Ain center, led by the inspiring coach Sara Yehia.
The training is specially designed for young women aged 15 to 35, aiming to build confidence, strength, and practical self-defense skills to stay safe in everyday life.
Through dynamic and interactive sessions, participants are learning not only how to protect themselves, but also how to cultivate discipline, resilience, and self-trust — essential tools for personal empowerment.
Because empowerment begins with feeling safe.
This initiative reflects Peace of Art’s commitment to creating safe and supportive spaces for women and youth to grow, connect, and thrive.

Peace of Art Concludes Innovative Training on Technology and Entrepreneurship

The Peace of Art Organization has concluded a dynamic training program for young people aged 18 to 30, combining computer and programming skills with entrepreneurship through design thinking and problem-solving. The program featured theoretical and practical sessions that equipped participants with essential digital skills while fostering creativity and innovation. Through hands-on activities, they explored programming basics and developed entrepreneurial ideas using design thinking methods.
Participants expressed enthusiasm for the experience, noting how it boosted their confidence and opened new professional opportunities. Empowering Women, One Move at a Time! Peace of Art Launches Free Self-Defense Training for Women
September 1, 2025 – Ain, Lebanon ⎯ In a world where confidence and safety go hand in hand, Peace of Art International proudly launched its Free Self-Defense Class for Women — a program designed to empower women physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Led by qualified trainers, the sessions combine Taekwondo basics, fitness and strength exercises, and mental focus techniques, helping participants build discipline, resilience, and self-assurance.
This initiative reflects Peace of Art’s ongoing mission to create safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces where women can grow stronger together — in body and in spirit.

Peace of Art Concludes “We Are the Future” Project with the Harmony Torch Awards
August 22, 2025 – Massabki Hotel, Chtaura - Peace of Art Association marked the closing of its project “We Are the Future” with a memorable celebration at the historic Massabki Hotel. The event brought together representatives of the Lebanese Army, General Security, the U.S. Embassy, universities, municipalities, and civil society organizations.
The evening featured captivating musical performances, short film screenings, and inspiring testimonies from youth participants reflecting the project’s impact on creativity and empowerment. The highlight of the night was the Harmony Torch Awards, honoring cultural and civic pioneers for their contributions to Lebanon’s artistic and social development.

Peace of Art and Perspectivity Launch "Weacing Stories of Lebanon": Free Handwoven Carpet Workshop in Jdeideh-Fakiha
August 1, 2025 – As part of the inspiring initiative “Weaving the Stories of Lebanon”, Peace of Art Organization, in collaboration with Perspectivity, launched a unique opportunity for youth and adults to learn the traditional art of carpet weaving — a craft that beautifully intertwines culture, patience, and creativity.
The free artistic workshops, which kicked off on September 5 at Peace of Art’s center in Jdeideh-Fakiha, invite participants to experience the beauty of craftsmanship while preserving a cultural tradition deeply rooted in Lebanese heritage.
Through this initiative, Peace of Art and Perspectivity continue to promote creativity, cultural preservation, and community engagement, empowering individuals to reconnect with their heritage and express themselves through art.

Community Cleanup Initiative in Al-Fakiha – Effective Civic Collaboration
On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Peace of Art Association organized a cleanup campaign on Al-Jdeideh Street near Saydet Al-Bishara Church, in cooperation with the Municipality of Al-Fakiha, local scout groups, and several community associations.
Volunteers from neighboring towns actively participated in the campaign, aiming to clean the street while raising environmental awareness and promoting a sense of civic responsibility. The initiative highlighted the importance of joint action between civil society and local authorities to bring about positive change.

Ain Summer Souk 2025: Celebrating Local Talent and Community
On July 26–27, 2025 - Peace of Art’s space in Ain hosted the Ain Summer Souk, a two-day celebration showcasing youth- and women-led businesses, crafts, and initiatives. The event brought together local entrepreneurs and artisans, featuring handmade products, traditional foods, artistic creations, and folklore dance performances. Kids enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, making the souk a lively and inclusive space for families.
The market offered more than commerce—it created a platform for connection, creativity, and empowerment. Visitors experienced the richness of local culture while supporting community-led initiatives. Through this celebration, Peace of Art reinforced its commitment to fostering social cohesion, promoting cultural expression, and uplifting young and women entrepreneurs. On Monday evening, July 14, 2025 - A grand celebration was held at the Pine Residence for the French National Day, at the invitation of French Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Hervé Magro. The event brought together Lebanese and French political, diplomatic, and cultural figures. Among the distinguished participants was Ms. Vera Al-Moullah, representing Peace of Art, highlighting the role of arts, culture, and education as bridges for dialogue and understanding. Peace of Art Upgrades Facilities at Al-Ain Islamic Hall
Al-Ain - July 2, 2025 - In line with its commitment to community service and promoting human values, Peace of Art provided essential support to Al-Ain Islamic Hall by securing and installing a fully equipped instant water heater. This upgrade ensures the availability of hot water in one of the area’s most important community centers. Over the years, and particularly during the recent war in Lebanon, the Al-Ain Islamic Center—including its hall and mosque—has played a critical humanitarian role, functioning as a reception and condolence space and transforming into a fully operational healthcare center for emergency cases. Peace of Art’s contribution reflects its broader mission to foster civil peace, strengthen social solidarity, and support communities during times of need, reinforcing the association’s dedication to initiatives that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Peace of Art Strengthens Ties at SPD Summer Gathering in Dresden
Monday, June 16, 2025 – Dresden, Germany – Mr. Mahdi Yahya, Founder and Chairman of the International Board of Peace of Art, attended the SPD’s summer gathering following an invitation from Mr. Abdulaziz Bashouri, Head of the Foreigners’ Group of the German SPD Party in Dresden. The event included a meeting with H.E. Ms. Petra Köpping, Minister of Health and Social Affairs in Saxony, and the Head of the Ministry’s Violence Prevention Projects Department. Discussions focused on violence prevention, peacebuilding, and cultural exchange, with Mr. Yahya extending an invitation for the Minister to visit Lebanon and learn about Peace of Art’s initiatives. The gathering also included exchanges with former Minister Martin Dulig, artists, and school principals. Mr. Bashouri highlighted integration policies in the German labor market and explored potential cooperation, including the recruitment of skilled workers from Lebanon and Syria. Peace of Art Strengthens Cultural and Diplomatic Ties in Germany
On Friday, June 6, 2025 - Mr. Mahdi Yahya, Founder and Chairman of the International Administrative Council of Peace of Art, attended the official opening of Mr. Matthias Ecke’s office in Dresden, Germany, following an invitation from the Member of the European Parliament representing Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD). The meeting was also attended by Mr. Aziz Bashouri, labor market expert and Deputy Chair of the Advisory Council for Migrants in the Dresden City Parliament. During the event, Mr. Yahya presented Mr. Ecke with a Lebanese olive tree as a symbol of peace and fraternity and extended an invitation for him to visit Lebanon and Syria to strengthen cultural and diplomatic ties. Mr. Bashouri expressed gratitude for Mr. Ecke’s support in lifting European sanctions on Syria and presented a model of the Hama waterwheels, highlighting Syrian cultural heritage. Peace of Art regards this meeting as a meaningful step toward fostering mutual understanding and collaboration through culture, art, and dialogue.

Peace of Art Restores St. George Church to Promote Civic Peace in Jdeideh-Fakiha
As part of its We Are All Citizens project, Peace of Art carried out a youth-led initiative to restore the St. George Church in Jdeideh-Fakiha. The work included lighting, painting, and providing containers to enhance the church’s environment, aiming to foster community dialogue, preserve cultural and religious identity, and strengthen civil peace and social cohesion. The initiative aligns with Peace of Art’s vision of promoting active citizenship and civic participation. The project concluded on May 31, 2025, with an event attended by Peace of Art’s President, Ms. Vera Al-Mawla, and Country Director in Lebanon, Mr. Ebrahim Yahya, alongside local community members and leaders. Pastor Jean Nasrallah expressed the church’s deep gratitude, and the gathering concluded with an impromptu hymn performed by parish members to honor the Peace of Art team’s efforts.

Healing in Times of Violence: A Transformative Training in Al-Ain
From May 2 to 3, 2025 - Human Security Collective, in partnership with Peace of Art, organized a training session titled “Healing in Times of Violence” in Al-Ain, focusing on supporting recovery from the impacts of war. The program combined entrepreneurship, design thinking and problem-solving methodologies, and art and creative expression into a comprehensive learning journey. Far from being purely theoretical, the courses provided a dynamic and practical space for participants to discover their talents, develop skills, and engage directly with expert trainers. Participants explored the basics of launching projects, learned innovative strategies to approach challenges creatively and collaboratively, and engaged in interactive art sessions as a tool for self-expression and community building. The youth emphasized that the experience boosted their confidence, knowledge, and belief in their ability to create change. Under the theme “From Knowledge to Action: Redefining Dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean Region,” the forum brings together voices from 43 countries to foster intercultural dialogue and strategic cooperation. Mr. Yahya will speak on “The Transformative Power of Arts and Culture,” presenting Peace of Art International’s vision for cultural diplomacy, peacebuilding, and creative dialogue across borders. Art serves as a bridge, and dialogue as the path—we are proud to walk it and contribute to shaping a more connected and understanding region.

Celebrating a Year of Global Collaboration
As the 2024–2025 academic year concludes, Peace of Art International proudly reflects on its partnership with the University of Michigan’s Global Scholars Program. Selected as one of the university’s global NGO partners in the Global Engagement Symposium, our collaboration highlighted the impact of project-based learning and community engagement in shaping global citizens. On April 18, University of Michigan students shared their experiences working with NGOs like ours, discussing the skills they developed, challenges they overcame, and personal growth gained through collaboration—particularly in peacebuilding, youth empowerment, and creative advocacy. We extend our gratitude to Dr. Benjamin A. Peters, Miss Sophie Stenroos, Mr. Mahdi Yahya, Miss Sabah Houwayji, and Ms. Vera Al Mawla for making this partnership a success. Together, we continue building bridges between academic institutions and grassroots efforts, equipping future leaders to create a more just and compassionate world.

On April 11, 2025, Peace of Art – Ain hosted a meaningful session led by human rights activist and co-founder of “MAAN,” Mr. Ahmad Mroueh. The session explored key topics including electoral laws, women’s political participation, and strategies for leading impactful initiatives. It offered participants valuable insights into fair democratic systems while highlighting the importance of equal representation and empowering women to drive positive change in their communities. More than just a training, the event served as a platform for dialogue, awareness, and action toward inclusive leadership. This initiative is part of the “Women, Youth, Peace and Security” program implemented with Search for Common Ground and supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Empowering Youth and Women through Traditional Food Production in Fakiha
March 20, 2025 - We are excited to highlight the initiative “Youth and Women’s Mentorship in Traditional Food Production” in Al-Fakiha, Lebanon, as part of our community initiatives campaign under the Civic Horizons project.
This initiative provided young people and women with practical skills in traditional food production. Participants learned how to prepare traditional dishes and produce local food products, strengthening their self-reliance while preserving cultural heritage.
The initiative is the result of participatory action research conducted by civil society actors and community members, with the support of Human Security Collective and Peace of Art.

Leveraging Digital Media for Youth Empowerment and Social Impact
On Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Body Café in Alzaytoon, Peace of Art Association hosted a pivotal roundtable discussion, uniting influential figures and youth interested in digital media. This gathering focused on the crucial role of digital media in community engagement and youth advocacy, highlighting its potential for fostering positive social impact. Key speakers included Ms. Huda Al-Fleiti, a journalist and media student; Mr. Michel Mhanna, Director of the Social Movement Association; Mr. Abbas Al-Hajj Hussein, Director of the Studies Association; Mr. Ebrahim Yahya, Executive Director of Peace of Art; and Ms. Vera Al-Mawla, President of Peace of Art. The dialogue underscored the importance of capacity building among young people, enabling them to utilize social media platforms effectively to express their views and engage in societal issues. This event marked a significant step toward equipping future generations with the tools needed to harness digital media for sustainable development and empowerment.

On February 16, 2025, Peace of Art hosted a roundtable discussion titled "Youth Talk" at Al-Hakim Restaurant, Jdeideh, aimed at bolstering youth involvement in the local community. This event convened experts and young participants to deliberate on the significance of youth engagement in democratic processes and policymaking, addressing the challenges they encounter in decision-making environments. Notable contributions included Dr. Hatem Mohi Al-Din's insights on youth roles in governance, Mr. Fayez Okaisha's discussion on inclusivity for individuals with disabilities, and Mr. Ibrahim Yahya's presentation on youth empowerment initiatives by Peace of Art. Ms. Vera Al-Mawla underlined the necessity of ongoing dialogues between youth and policymakers. On February 6 and 7, 2025, Peace of Art, in collaboration with Basmeh & Zeitooneh, conducted an intensive training session focused on community engagement and advocacy for social causes. The first day's participants examined essential advocacy tools and strategies pertinent to addressing community challenges. The second day featured dynamic discussions and interactive skill-building activities, further reflecting the participants' enthusiasm and commitment. This training is part of the "Refugee Leadership" project, supported by Porticus, aimed at empowering youth with vital knowledge and resources to advocate for human rights and contribute to sustainable development.

As part of our series highlighting community initiatives under the Civic Horizons project, we shine the spotlight on Lebanon!
On January 22, 2025 - In the villages of Al-Fakiha and Jdeideh in Lebanon, an uplifting initiative brought joy to more than 50 children affected by war. With the support of Peace of Art and local school principals, enthusiastic volunteers and members of civil society transformed schools—turned into shelters—into vibrant spaces of hope.
Through activities such as games, arts, and music, these children found a sense of stability, while the volunteers gained valuable skills that empower them to sustain these efforts.
Parents and caregivers warmly welcomed this initiative, which showcases the power of community and its remarkable resilience.

Young Voices Shaping Stories of Change in Ain
Since January, the Peace of Art space in Ain, in partnership with the Human Security Collective, has become a hub of creativity and transformative storytelling under the Civic Horizons Program. Through eight engaging sessions, children aged 8 to 12 explored climate change, storytelling techniques, and character development while creating their own stories inspired by resilience, environmental justice, and local cultural identity. Guided by expert trainers, the young participants learned to use storytelling as a tool for healing, education, and expression. Their imaginative narratives not only reflect their dreams but also their awareness of real-world challenges. A new book, developed in collaboration with their trainers and a visual arts expert, will soon bring their collective story to life. Peace of Art celebrates these young storytellers for their creativity and vision for a better world.

Empowering Educators Through the “Hekayatouna” Program
In January 2025, Peace of Art – Al Ain concluded its teacher training session under the “Hekayatouna” program, held in partnership with the Human Security Collective. The training explored storytelling techniques, narrative structure, sequencing of events, character development, and the integration of AI in education. Throughout the sessions, teachers engaged in a creative and interactive journey that deepened their understanding of how storytelling can enrich the learning process. By the end of the program, participants also had the chance to experience the inspiring work created by the “Hekayatouna” youth.
