About Peace of Art International
Who We Are
Peace of Art International is a global network of legally independent nonprofit organizations united by one vision, shared values, and a common commitment to building more peaceful, inclusive, and resilient societies.
Building on Peace of Art’s work since 2016, the Network connects registered Peace of Art organizations in Lebanon, the United States, and Germany, bringing together local experience, international cooperation, and shared institutional standards.
Our work recognizes that sustainable peace cannot be achieved through political processes alone. It requires people and communities to have the knowledge, opportunities, confidence, and spaces to participate in shaping their societies.
Through peacebuilding and dialogue, youth leadership, arts and culture, education, civic engagement, social inclusion, humanitarian and community action, and international cooperation, we work to empower people and strengthen communities.
Young people are central to this mission. We seek to develop a new generation of Youth Peacebuilders and Leaders who can challenge polarization and hate, build bridges across differences, strengthen dialogue, and contribute to a more peaceful and humane future.
Why We Are Needed?
Why We Are Needed
Our world is changing rapidly. Conflict, polarization, hate speech, misinformation, discrimination, inequality, displacement, and declining trust are increasingly affecting relationships within and between communities.
Young people are growing up at the center of these transformations, yet they are too often treated only as recipients of assistance rather than as partners and leaders capable of shaping solutions.
We believe young people should not only benefit from peacebuilding—they should lead it.
Peace of Art International therefore invests in leadership, creativity, critical thinking, dialogue, civic participation, intercultural understanding, and opportunities for young people to transform differences into cooperation.
Our goal goes beyond responding to crises. We seek to strengthen the capacity of people and communities to prevent division, build resilience, protect human dignity, and create sustainable foundations for peace.
Our Vision
A world where peace, human dignity, creativity, education, and intercultural understanding enable individuals and communities to live together in justice, freedom, equality, and mutual respect.
Our Mission
Peace of Art International strengthens individuals and communities through education, artistic expression, cultural exchange, peacebuilding, humanitarian engagement, civic participation, and international cooperation.
Through dialogue, innovation, mutual learning, and collaborative action across borders, we contribute to sustainable and peaceful social development.
Our Key Areas of Work
Across the Peace of Art International Network, our National Affiliates develop and implement programs responding to their local contexts while contributing to shared international priorities. Our work connects peacebuilding, empowerment, creativity, inclusion, resilience, environmental responsibility, and international cooperation.
-
We create spaces for dialogue, conflict transformation, mediation, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence. By bringing together people from different cultural, religious, political, and social backgrounds, our programs seek to overcome divisions, challenge stereotypes, build mutual trust, and strengthen social cohesion.
-
Young people are central to our work. Through leadership development, civic education, democratic participation, critical thinking, and community engagement, we empower young people to become peacebuilders, responsible leaders, and active citizens capable of contributing positively to their communities and societies.
-
We use creativity as a powerful tool for learning, expression, dialogue, and social transformation. Through arts, music, cultural activities, education, filmmaking, photography, podcasts, and other forms of media, we provide people—especially youth—with opportunities to develop their talents, share their stories, address social issues, and make their voices heard.
-
In communities affected by conflict, displacement, economic hardship, and crisis, our Network supports humanitarian and community-based responses addressing urgent needs while contributing to longer-term resilience. Our experience includes emergency assistance, community kitchens, water and sanitation support, and assistance to vulnerable and displaced communities.
-
We work to strengthen dignity, participation, and opportunity for people who experience social or economic marginalization. Our livelihood and empowerment programs support skills development and greater economic self-reliance, while sports and wellbeing activities promote teamwork, confidence, healthy lifestyles, inclusion, and positive relationships within communities.
-
Peace and sustainable development are closely interconnected. We promote environmental awareness, protection of natural resources, responsible community practices, and youth participation in environmental action. Through education and community initiatives, we encourage people to recognize their role in protecting the environment and building healthier, more resilient communities for future generations.
-
We work to strengthen the rights, participation, leadership, safety, and economic empowerment of women and girls, creating opportunities for them to develop skills, access resources, participate in decision-making, and take active roles in their communities.
Our work also contributes to the prevention of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) through awareness, education, safe and inclusive spaces, community engagement, and initiatives that challenge harmful stereotypes, discrimination, and gender-based inequalities.
By engaging women, young people, families, and communities, we seek to promote dignity, equality, protection, and meaningful participation, recognizing that the empowerment and safety of women and girls are essential foundations for peaceful, inclusive, and resilient societies.
-
We are committed to promoting the dignity, rights, inclusion, and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and people with special needs in all areas of society.
Our work seeks to reduce barriers that can limit access to education, employment, public services, governmental institutions, community life, and decision-making processes. Through empowerment, skills development, awareness, advocacy, and inclusive community initiatives, we support individuals in strengthening their independence, confidence, opportunities, and ability to participate fully in society.
We also work to encourage communities, institutions, and partners to recognize accessibility and inclusion not as acts of assistance, but as fundamental principles of equal rights, equal opportunity, and human dignity.
Peaceful and inclusive societies can only be achieved when everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, work, lead, and live with dignity.
-
As an international network, we connect local knowledge with opportunities for cooperation across borders. Through international partnerships, youth and professional exchange, joint programs, research, capacity building, knowledge sharing, and cross-cultural learning, our National Affiliates strengthen one another and contribute their experience to wider international efforts for peace and sustainable development.
Our Commitment
Peace of Art International remains steadfast in its commitment to peace, human rights, human dignity, inclusion, social equity, and sustainable development. As an international network of legally independent nonprofit organizations, we connect local experience with international cooperation to empower people and communities and strengthen their capacity to build peaceful, inclusive, and resilient societies.
Across our Network, we work with local and international partners, civil society, institutions, and communities to advance peacebuilding, youth leadership, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, civic participation, education, arts and culture, humanitarian and community action, and social inclusion.
At a time of growing polarization, conflict, hate speech, inequality, and social division, we are committed to strengthening cooperation across borders and investing especially in young people as peacebuilders, leaders, and agents of positive change.
Through locally rooted action and international solidarity, Peace of Art International works toward a shared goal: empowered communities, stronger connections across differences, and a more peaceful and humane future for all.
