Strengthening Women and Youth Strategies in Lebanon
September 24, 2025 – Beirut, Lebanon ⎯ Peace of Art Organization joined its partners from the Women and Youth Working Group, led by Search for Common Ground, for a meeting with Minister Rima Karami at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Beirut.
During the discussion, Peace of Art President Vera Al-Moula and Lebanon Country Director Ibrahim Yehia highlighted opportunities to strengthen coordination with the Ministry and educational institutions across Lebanon — particularly in marginalized regions such as the Bekaa and the North.
Together with partners, the organization shared key recommendations related to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agendas. These recommendations were developed over the past year through national consultations focused on UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 2250.
Minister Karami emphasized plans to enhance cooperation with civil society organizations, especially through upcoming Ministry-led campaigns aimed at promoting education and ensuring the active participation of women and youth. She also underscored the importance of the shared recommendations and the government’s commitment to implementing them — particularly in collaboration with local organizations.
Peace of Art reaffirms its commitment to continue advocating for these priorities alongside ministries and key stakeholders, working toward inclusive, community-driven efforts that strengthen women’s and youth engagement across Lebanon.
