Re-grounding Peace: Insights from the CSO-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding

On December 10, 2025, The Chair Founder's Advisory of Peace of Art, Mahdi Yahya, recently addressed the 3rd CSO-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding at the United Nations in Geneva. He stressed that peace is only meaningful when it is grounded in justice and inclusion.
In a time of rising global conflict and fading trust in global systems, the dialogue highlighted a critical truth: peace without addressing the realities on the ground becomes a mere slogan. Peace of Art's participation focused on the necessity of practical, honest engagement between Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and policymakers. Our work concentrated on strengthening resilience, dignity, and cultural dialogue as essential foundations for sustainable peace. The objective was to define concrete and realistic paths forward, moving beyond rhetoric toward actionable strategies. The conference concluded with a commitment to consolidate these discussions into a final report that will guide the next steps toward a more just and inclusive peace. Despite the current challenges, hope remains if we choose to build a better future together.
