On the evening of 8 May 2026, beneath the historic ceilings of Bremen City Hall, Mahdi Yahya received the International Bremen Peace Award in the category Pioneering Peace Work.

“The Search”
Guitarist Aladdin Al Haddad performed his original composition The Search, dedicated to Mahdi Yahya for the occasion.
The composition reflected perseverance, hope, purpose and the continuing search for peace.
