Restoring Faith, Building Peace, Strengthening Unity: Youth Revive St. George Church in Jdeideh-Fakiha
deideh-Fakiha - May 31, 2025 - As part of its “We Are All Citizens” project, Peace of Art brought together the energy of local youth to restore the historic St. George Church in Jdeideh-Fakiha.
The initiative included installing new lighting, refreshing the church with painting, and providing eco-friendly containers to reduce environmental impact. Beyond physical restoration, the project aimed to spark community dialogue, preserve cultural and religious identity, and strengthen civil peace and social cohesion—true to Peace of Art’s vision of fostering active citizenship and participation.
The closing event gathered community members, local figures, and distinguished guests including Peace of Art President, Miss Vera Al-Mawla, and Country Director in Lebanon, Mr. Ebrahim Yahya. In his heartfelt remarks, Pastor Jean Nasrallah, priest of the Jdeideh-Fakiha parish, expressed profound gratitude for the initiative, which resonated warmly with residents.
The celebration concluded on a touching note with an impromptu hymn sung by parish members—a moving gesture of appreciation to the Peace of Art team for their efforts in blending heritage, unity, and hope.
